You may ask, “why skincare just for men?” And it is a valid question, after all everybody is individual, as is their skin….Male, female or non binary.

However, generally compared with female’s skin, men’s skin;

* Is 20% thicker.

* Has more, and larger pores.

* Produces more sebum via a more active sebaceous gland (our natural skin oils that although are protective in themselves, can cause acne, and cause pore blockages).

* Have more and thicker hairs which can create their own trouble.

Add to this that studies show men want their skin to be matte in appearance, where most products made for women tend to intentionally give a shine to the skin, a ‘glow’ as is popular. Octane absorbs to a natural matte finish.

And at Octane we believe a gentleman’s cologne or aftershave should do the talking, so we’ve not added any strong or flowery scents, and definitely NO artificial fragrances.

So with Octane we have developed skincare which targets pores, sebum, and acne productivity such as Hi Octane moisturiser, LED eye gel, and specific ingredients in our serums.  We have also created the range to have more nourishing products for normal to dry skin, or men who live in dry climes, or with mature skin. Fuel moisturiser, Hi Beam eye cream and our serums assist these clients perfectly.

Please see the individual ingredients on our product page here. Octane source organic ingredients where possible (highlighted with an *). We use extracts from natural, proven effective, high quality sources. We are Vegan friendly simply by the 100% plant derived ingredients we use.

We do not use silicones (Dimethicone, Dimethiconol and other derivatives) in our skincare as we believe it can increase the instance of acne and blocked pores, and it ultimately offers only a superficial effect. We don’t use SLS’S, Parabens, Propylene Glycol, synthetic fragrances, colours, detergents or cheap fillers/oils. You wouldn’t put trash like this in your car, bike, boat or plane so why put it on your face??!

For instance you may find you get oily cheeks, chin and forehead, however your feel dry and crusty around the eyes…Grab Hi Octane moisturiser (oil balancing) and Hi Beam eye cream (deep moisture) for your special balance.

Our founder, Adam Taylor is a firm believer in ‘Quality over quantity’ in all things. Sweat shop cheap clothing or classic, quality design and manufacture, which is better for the planet, and you? Cheap car = scary! Quality car = miles of enjoyment… you get the philosophy.

So Octane’s formulations are crafted from high quality, curated ingredients, in concentrated form. Unlike most skincare brands Aqua (water) is not our first (largest) ingredient.

Our eye treatments need only around a grain of rice sized dispense, our serums half a millilitre or one to two full pumps. Our moisturisers approximately half a millilitre. Degreaser, a quarter teaspoon is more than enough to lather into a luxurious foam. This represents excellent value for money, as your Octane will go a long way, like investing in a long range Tesla battery!

Dispensed too much? The eye treatments are excellent for dry lips (and natural, therefore safe). The moisturisers great for your hands as they are not greasy….

Octane to me means many things. As a marker of potency in fuel I correlated this with the potency of Octane’s formulations. Hi Octane!!!

As we transition to much needed change in global practices with energy and sustainable resources and see groundbreaking technology daily, Octane was also a nod of thanks to over a century of adventure, growth, exploration and revolution via the awesome machines man created…Cars, motorbikes, boats, rockets and planes. We wouldn’t be where we are now as a global village without them!

I also wanted Octane to mark a transition of human kind to a better global understanding of the planet. Products like AMPED, BOOST, and CHARGED are a strong nod to the electric and alternative futures. Be it electric, hydrogen or the roar of a combustion engine, may we continue to be propelled to greatness, adventure, travel, and wonder via man and his machine!

I also think the name Octane just sounds really cool.

Fuel For Your Skin.

You certainly can shop by your skin type. At Octane we have kept skincare simple. Because we only use high quality, natural, organic, plant based formulas this allows the individual products to be free of trouble causing chemicals, and to target all skin types.

If you have normal skin, or skin that can be dry, or mature skin not producing the oils it used to then the Fuel Lite kit is all you need.

If you have skin that is prone to oiliness, acne, blocked pores and is a bit hard to balance then Hi Octane Lite Kit is all you need.

Adding any or all of our Serums to your chosen routine will be entirely safe for either skin types, simply enhancing results for maximum beneficial outcome.

At Octane we've purposely kept skincare as simple as possible without skimping on the necessary tools to help your skin be better.

So for a basic routine our Lite kits are perfect. Start your day with a deep cleanse with our famous Degreaser foaming gel cleanser. Follow by applying an eye treatment and a facial moisturiser to a clean face and neck... choose Hi Octane and LED if you have oily, or acne-prone skin, OR Fuel and Hi-Beam if your have normal to dry/mature skin.

Once you have cleansed and dried your skin, Simply pat a small amount of your chosen eye treatment around the eye area, gently with fingertips. Then finish with your chosen moisturiser. Dispense a large pea-sized amount of Fuel or Hi Octane, and smooth over face and neck until absorbed. Upward strokes are best.
